Greeley Stampede

The Greeley Stampede is an annual summer celebration held in Greeley, CO. It spans two weekends and features pro-rodeo, bull-riding and kids rodeos, country and classic rock concerts, demolition derby, televised 4th of July parade, Carnival Midway, Western Art Show, free stage entertainment, and loads of festival grounds activities mixed with food and fun galore. The Greeley Stampede is rich in tradition and heritage dating back to the late 1800s. This community celebration that was started to honor local potato farmers, has grown into an internationally acclaimed festival attracting over 250,000 people annually from the United States and internationally.

Fireworks will launch at approximately 9:10 p.m. Attendees are invited to bring picnic baskets, lawn chairs, and blankets for convenience and comfort. No tents or structures are allowed.

Located in Cheyenne, WY about 45 minutes north of Fort Collins, Cheyenne Frontier Days is the world’s largest outdoor rodeo that draws top professionals who compete for more than $1 million in cash and prizes. Since 1897 Cheyenne has celebrated its Old West roots with this eye-popping summer festival. Complementing the daily rodeo action are behind-the-chutes tours, trick riding, and a wild horse race. A Native American Village, an old frontier town, a saloon,
square dancing, a check wagon cook-off, pancake breakfasts, and an art show carry through the frontier theme. Rounding out the program are a carnival midway, an air show, top-name entertainment, professional bull riding shows, and several parades that include antique carriages and automobiles.

Things kick off on Friday with an all-town dinner, live music, and a beer garden – hosted by the new Severance Chamber of Commerce!
Bright and early Saturday (7:00 a.m.) come wet a line in the annual fishing derby at Blue Spruce Park then, at 9:00, head on over and check out the assorted booths and food trucks at Lakeview Park. Saturday evening, starting at 5:00 p.m., you’ll find craft brews, food trucks, live music, and our annual Rocky Mountain Oyster Eating contest all happening at Overlook Park.
