Where are you from?
I (Natalie) am from Janesville, Wisconsin. Scott is from St. Joseph, Michigan. His hometown is on Lake Michigan, and he absolutely loves any form of water, so naturally, we love living in Florida!

Working in the hospitality industry has allowed me to also live in Boston and Scottsdale. Scott lived in Scottsdale as well; however, we didn't know each other at that point. Sometimes we wonder if we ever crossed paths while we were there.

How did the two of you meet?
We met here in Florida and had our first date at a burger bar called Graffiti Junktion in Jax Beach. While the plan was to watch the NBA playoffs, we simply enjoyed getting to know each other over beer and tater tots. Five years later, here we are! Married with a baby (Cecilia) and a dog (Lambeau).

Why did you choose St. Augustine?
We were living in Jacksonville Beach and wanted to find our forever home once we had Cecilia. We had friends relocate to this area, but we really only knew St. Augustine as tourists, coming down to see Nights of Lights, enjoying the nightlife, and taking "staycations" at Casa Monica. Forgotten Tonic and the Tini Martini Bar are a couple of our favorite spots.

We chose World Golf Village, specifically King and Bear, for several reasons. Scott is an avid golfer and knew about the great course. We're also impressed by the school system, which will be important to us in the coming years. It also seems like a safe and secure place. Our visiting friends have called it "resort living," and that's truly what it feels like.

How do you imagine your future in St. Augustine?
While we've only been here since April, we're excited to live on a quiet cul-de-sac and be a part of the welcoming community. So much is happening here, and it seems to be a tight-knit place. We're really enjoying meeting our neighbors and look forward to meeting the snowbirds when they return. Recently, we met another family with a young daughter at the pool. We smiled at the thought that she and Cecilia could be future classmates! Plenty of Food Truck Fridays will likely be in our future as well.  

Tell us about your careers.
Scott has been a regional property manager for 10 years in both Michigan and Florida. He's also served in the military and is an Air Force veteran. I have been in human resources for 14 years, including hotels and resorts, professional sports, and now financial software. My career is actually what brought me to Florida when I accepted a position in the HR department with the Jacksonville Jaguars (though I'm still a true Packers fan)!

What would else is there to know about your family?
After Scott's time in the military, he went to Grand Valley State University on a football scholarship as their starting tight end. While there, they won two D2 national championships, four conference titles, and had a 54-2 record. As for hobbies, we love to be active, cooking and baking new recipes, fishing, golfing, trying new wines, visiting family in the Midwest, and enjoying life through the new perspective of baby Cecilia.
