The first Levitate Music Festival in 2013 was originally a 10th anniversary celebration of the surf & skate shop in of the same name. Marshfield has since been put on the map with major bands flocking to perform from Tedeschi Trucks Band, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, and Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley this year, to Trey Anastacio of Phish last year. Newcomers to the South Shore will be pleasantly surprised by the world-class performances and venues available in our seemingly small towns. Converted churches and old barns provide the perfect backdrop to witness your favorites come alive onstage. Local artists take their crafts seriously, as well, and can be found playing at these and smaller venues while those interested in broadening their artistic scope will find ample educational opportunities with workshops, lessons, and seminars scheduled throughout the year.
