Littleton Schools – Many Options!

Local Tip: "Something amazing is happening at Front Range Christian School (FRCS). We are partnering with the Holy Spirit to do kingdom work. Where we’re not enough, God will be. If you want to be part of something innovative and exciting, if you want to partner with a school who will partner with God, then visit FRCS as soon as you can." – Amanda D., parent of two elementary students at FRCS

Littleton is unique in that we have three school districts: Jefferson County Public Schools, Littleton Public Schools, and Douglas County School District.

Jefferson County Public Schools (or Jeffco) is the largest school district in Colorado, and has 155 schools and a variety of programs on 168 campuses. According to their website, Jeffco students continue to outperform the state in all grade levels and content areas on state testing. Jeffco goals are guided by the Jeffco Generations Vision, recently developed by new Superintendent Jason Glass.

To locate your designated neighborhood school, visit the Jeffco School Finder page on the Jeffco website, and enter your address. Families can also “Choice Enroll” at any Jeffco school, which means you can attend any school in the area if there is space available and your student is accepted through the Choice Enrollment process. Be sure to check out the Enroll Jeffco page on the district’s website for more information. www.jeffcopublicschools.org

Littleton Public Schools (LPS) is also a premier school district holding the slogan: “Big enough to serve you; small enough to know you,” which they claim is an accurate portrayal of the district’s culture. LPS holds approximately 15,000 students who attend one of the 13 elementary schools, four middle schools, three high schools, preschools or two charter schools.

According to their website, LPS holds National Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence awards, as well as offers a credited high-school International Baccalaureate program. More than 20 percent of its students live outside district boundaries and choose to open-enroll at LPS schools. Douglas County School District is Colorado's third-largest school district, serving more than 68,000 students in preschool through 12th grade. Parents can find many different choices through the District, such as open enrollment, charter schools, instruction for gifted and talented students, magnet schools, an International Baccalaureate program, Advanced Placement courses and other special programs.

According to their website, the Douglas County School District vision is to "create responsible citizens who contribute to society." The District strives to maintain a well-researched, integrated and standards-based curriculum, a rich array of extracurricular offerings and strong community involvement. Some of the largest private schools include Front Range Christian School, St. Mary’s Academy, Mullen High School, Montessori Peaks Academy, Denver Christian, and Colorado Academy.
