Derr-Okamoto Park

Derr Okamoto Park is a great place to take children of all ages to enjoy the water without having to get in a pool. Older kids love to battle with the squirting zebras, while little kids will fall in love with the mama and baby hippo water feature. The playground is amazing too! This jungle-themed park will satisfy any climber’s needs with a climbing rock, spider web, ropes and treehouse. There’s also a basketball court, soccer field, and a great skatepark for all experience levels. You’ll find plenty of shade for those hot August days!

Elk Grove Regional Park
9950 Elk Grove Florin Rd., Elk Grove CA 95624
The largest and oldest park in Elk Grove has been a gathering place since the late 1800s. This 122-acre park is host to many of the staple Elk Grove events like the Giant Pumpkin Festival, Western Festival, and Strauss Festival. Elk Grove residents love the 1.4-mile walking trail, lake with a fountain in the center, bike park, off-leash dog park, and playground.  It is also a great place to play disk golf or just come and relax under the giant oaks.

George Park

Every future paleontologist needs to experience George Park as dinosaurs can be found hidden everywhere. There’s dinosaur skeletons to play on and fossils that line the picnic area, but don’t forget to search the sand pit; it holds a surprise if you dig in the right area! For the older kids, the zip line will keep them wanting to come back for more.

Horseshoe Park

Horseshoe Park is loved for its western theme which includes a giant horse statue and horseshoe-shaped splash pad.  This park has an amazing playground, picnic tables, tennis courts, and basketball courts, but make no mistake, its horseshoe courts are the main attraction.
 
Kammerer Park

Kammerer Park is the park for the music lover! Every inch of this park is music themed and even the benches look like piano keys. The entire family will love the two playgrounds, splash pad, simple skate area, and basketball court.
 
Kloss Park
6501 Laguna Park Dr., Elk Grove 95758
Kloss Park is one of two parks that is specifically designed to be accessible to people of all abilities. It has ramps leading up to the slides, wheelchair-accessible sand tables, adaptive play structures, and the total highlight -- the wheelchair swing. The best part is that this fire truck themed park is right next to a real fire station! Important note: a quick call to CSD’s office is needed for the key.
 
Machado Dairy Park

Machado Dairy Park proudly honors the Machado Family’s dairy farm with a farm-themed playground. Kids go wild for the barn playground and giant cow statue! This park also features an adult fitness area, 1/2 basketball court, restrooms, and a shaded picnic area.

Jennie McConnell Park
10081 Hampton Oak Dr., Elk Grove CA 95624
McConnell Park was named to honor the women whose mission was to save the oak trees and create Elk Grove Park. This brightly colored park is known for its “music on a hill,” where kids can play their hearts out on different play instruments. The futsal court, basketball court, adult fitness area, and walking trail also make it a popular destination for adults.
 
Miwok Park

Miwok Park was built by Elk Grove citizens and is the only park made entirely of wood. This is a local favorite because of its unique design as towering castles and wooden canoes invite hours of imaginative play. Picnic benches, bathrooms, and natural shade from the giant oaks make this park ideal for picnics.
 
Morse Park
5540 Bellaterra Dr., Elk Grove CA 95757
Morse Park is one of the larger parks with incredible amenities including adult fitness, baseball fields, bocce ball, a dog park, basketball court, horseshoe pits, two playgrounds, skate elements, and a spray ground! It also has picnic tables, a BBQ area, and bathrooms. With so many options, this is a popular park to catch a food truck or find a local event such as Elk Fest

Wright Park

Hop to it and play at this hidden treasure! This frog themed park is a beautiful place to take your kids for some much-needed exploration. An informative sign about frog habitats informs the most curious minds after playing in the splash pad and on the playground.
