Best Places to Let Fido Run
These parks are a great place to hang out with your "best friend". There are many ways and places to play and explore with your dog. Please be mindful of the rules in each park regarding unleashed rules and laws. Enjoy time with your pup!

White Mountain National Forest
Head north
All trails in the WMNF allow dogs, and they can be unleashed(under vocal control). Leashing is required in Alpine Zones and near developed areas. Mount Willard, Arethusa Falls, and Mount Pierce are all furball favorites, though you will see dogs on Mount Washington and just about every other peak. In fact, there is a 4000-footer list dedicated to four-legged completions.
Rye Town Beach
Rye
Pretty much the only spot for your pup to hit the beach. From the Sunday after Labor Day to the Friday before Memorial Day, dogs are free to run, swim, and roll around in seaweed and other muck. On a warm day, you will see dozens of pooches out here. Note that Rye State Park Beach (the beach directly in front of the parking lot) bans dogs year-round per NH State Park rules, though no one seems to abide by it. Nothing better on a warm fall day than hitting this spot with your best buddy.

It's a drive, but Crane Beach in Mass allows dogs from 10/1 til 3/31. Even without a dog, this beach is worth the trip. Easily the largest undeveloped beach outside of Cape Cod in New England. You can walk for miles and see no sign of development. Plenty of parking is available, and an entrance fee applies.
