Four Key Priority Objectives for the 2024-2025 School Year
An Open Letter to the Georgetown Community from Dr. Devin Padavil, Superintendent, Georgetown ISD

Georgetown Community,
As we embark on a new academic year, we should be optimistic about the future of our school district. Georgetown is a special community with a bright future as we grow. Our families deserve high-performing schools where students develop the academic confidence to succeed in the workplace and in life.
Leading up to this August, our staff has been creating learning experiences, innovative programs, and enriching extracurricular activities to ensure each student has the opportunity to excel. Most importantly, our academic focus has shifted to take Georgetown to the next level. This year, our team has improved our curriculum, developed a literacy framework, improved our use of data, and is investing in our administrators as instructional leaders. I am confident in our staff; I am confident in our leaders; and we are determined to grow our students to their unique potential.
To continue the stellar reputation of Georgetown ISD, we must have the systems and processes to see every student succeed. It takes leadership to get this done.
This work is aligned to our Strategic Blueprint that outlines the organization we strive to be and the outcomes we expect for the people we serve.
Here are our four key priority objectives for the 2024-2025 school year:
Strategic Priority Area One - Student Learning, Growth, and Progress
1.1 In GISD, instruction, assessment, and intervention are aligned in support of student learning and growth.
1.2 In GISD, we monitor progress toward students’ developing attributes in the Learner Profile.
1.3 GISD students are prepared for postsecondary education and the workforce.
1.4 GISD learners’ progress is reflected in a way that makes it easily understood to all audiences.
Strategic Priority Area Two - Student and Staff Well-Being
2.1 GISD students are treated with respect and are respectful to each other and to adults.
2.2 GISD employees find meaning and value in their work.
2.3 Students feel GISD schools and classrooms are physically and psychologically safe.
Strategic Priority Area Three - Staff Recruitment and Retention
3.1 Georgetown ISD provides competitive compensation and benefits to employees.
3.2 Georgetown ISD actively recruits, attracts, and retains employees who embrace the vision, mission, beliefs, and norms of the organization.
3.3 In GISD, professional learning communities thrive across the organization.
Strategic Priority Area Four - Community and Connectivity
4.1 GISD is transparent with reporting progress and providing access to information.
4.2 GISD staff and school board trustees establish effective relationships with parents and other key community leaders in support of students and schools.
4.3 Parents and community members feel welcome and invited in GISD schools.
This framework provides consistency across the district and ensures accountability. We are dedicated to continuous improvement and providing regular updates to you throughout the year through board workshops and meetings and my superintendent communications.
