Meet the Butler Family:
Finding Home, Community, and Adventure
Graham ready to play with his Aquasox 15u Flowery Branch team
When Brett and Christy first visited friends in Reunion Country Club in Hoschton for a simple night of trick-or-treating with friends, they never expected it would lead them to their future home. But as they walked the neighborhood, watching kids race between houses and neighbors chatting under porch lights, the area felt warm, welcoming, and full of community. By the next year, they had made the move—and they’ve been grateful ever since.
Brett grew up in Gwinnett County and Christy in Jackson, giving both an appreciation for small-town warmth and strong community ties. Although they attended Valdosta State University at the same time, their story truly began after college. Today, they share their life with their sons, Hudson, 14, and Graham, 12, along with their energetic dogs, Kirby and Koby—faithful companions, especially when baseball is involved.
The Butlers stay busy supporting their boys’ activities. Hudson plays baseball for Lanier Christian Academy (LCA), while Graham splits his time between baseball, basketball, and travel ball with the 13U Mill Creek Hawks. Most weekends find the family at D Bat Hamilton Mill or cheering from the bleachers, with Koby happily accepting attention from nearby kids. Watching the boys grow alongside their teammates has become one of the most meaningful parts of life here.
The Butlers jointly own and work at Entrypoint Doors & Windows, a family-run business with Brett’s dad, Paul. Working in the family business has been a steady part of their lives and reflects the strong family and community values they live by. Outside of work, Brett finds relaxation on the golf course at Reunion Country Club, while Christy stays active through pickleball and Pilates at Lifemoves Studio, where she’s built lasting friendships. Through school events, sports, and neighborhood gatherings, the Butlers have become deeply connected to the community they proudly call home.
Giving back is another priority for their family. They support local sports, gather donations for the North Gwinnett Co-Op, and participate in golf tournaments benefiting causes like the National Down Syndrome Event and Children’s Healthcare. Their involvement reflects what they love about this area—people genuinely look out for one another.
When it’s time for a night out, Brett and Christy enjoy local dining as much as anyone. Frankie’s Steakhouse is their favorite for a special evening, while Paddy’s Irish Pub, Local Station, and nearby Mexican restaurants are go-to spots for casual meals with the boys. For birthdays, Top Golf and Andretti have become family favorites.
Sundays bring a familiar rhythm. The boys enjoy attending Christ Church in Oakwood, where they’ve found community through the church’s youth programs. Whether cheering at games, spending time with neighbors, or enjoying relaxed evenings at home, the Butlers continue to build a life that reflects everything they love about living here.
Their advice to newcomers is simple: explore, participate, and connect. The more you lean into the rhythm of the community, the faster you’ll find yourself surrounded by people who feel less like neighbors and more like friends. And before long—just like the Butlers—you’ll discover that you’ve found not only a wonderful place to live, but a place that truly feels like home.
