The Crossover Uses Sports to Help People Succeed in Athletics and in Life

Sports teach life. Or, more accurately, sports teach how to succeed in life.

  • Your response to a win or loss is what makes you a true winner or loser.
  • Your best teacher is your last mistake, so accept constructive criticism.
  • You miss 100 percent of the shots you don’t take.
  • Hard work will beat talent if talent doesn’t work hard.
  • Perseverance pays off.
  • Teamwork matters.

Those are just a few of the lessons I learned growing up by participating in hockey. My parents were far from rich, so we struck a deal at the age of 9 when I declared my dream to play Division I hockey in college. I agreed to work hard; they agreed to sacrifice to support my goal.

With their assistance, outstanding coaching, and a great deal of determination and dedication, that dream came true for me.

Fast forward to today, and I’m a husband with five children — and for years had my sights on creating a facility that would unite a number of health and wellness concepts. The idea was to honor the lessons of my youth by creating an environment to help others reach their fullest potential. That dream, too, required a great deal of determination, dedication, and teamwork.

Now, The Crossover is a 240,000-square-foot destination with an array of sports, wellness, and entertainment offerings. Here, you’ll find:
