What started as a gas station and convenience store has gone through a few expansions and rebirths to become the popular “great-idea-let’s-meet-at-Hays-City” spot all the locals flock to. Its popularity led to the most recent renovation in 2017 when the “Ice House” was added to provide much-needed space for bar and cocktail patrons. Also added was an extensive draft beer system with 40 taps, multiple TVs for all us sports nuts and a wood-fire pizza oven to go with an already unique and diverse food menu. A stage was added to the outdoor beer garden under the shade of the live oaks, so now you can enjoy live music several nights a week. With the food, the craft beer and cocktails, and live music all in this comfortable outdoor setting, it’s likely Hays City Store will become your “Aww-man-I-need-to-get-back-there” place!
